Canada Post and UPS: Resources for Businesses Affected by the Suspension of De Minimis
On August 29, the US eliminated its “de minimis” exemption, which allowed goods valued under $800 USD to enter the country duty free. All shipments, regardless of their value, must now have duties prepaid before crossing the border. However, qualifying goods under CUSMA will continue to be exempt.
