Goals and Objectives

The webinar on September 29 is the first of four training sessions convened by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) in advance of the First Virtual Canadian Women-only Business Mission to the Republic of Korea. The online training session, titled “South Korea in 2020: Economic and Cultural Overview,” offers participating Canadian women business leaders an introduction to opportunities in the South Korean market with a focus on the healthcare, education and agri-food sectors, as well as insight into prospects for women-led business in Korea, and an understanding of important business and cultural protocol in the country. The webinar is open to delegates participating in the First Virtual Canadian Women-only Business Mission to the Republic of Korea and non-delegates alike.

The First Canadian Women-only Virtual Business Mission to the Republic of Korea

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on international travel, APF Canada’s Women-only Business Mission to South Korea (originally scheduled for February 2020) has pivoted to a technology-enabled virtual business mission on November 3rd and 4th, 2020. Please save the date in your calendars. While the virtual model cannot fully replace the value of an in-market mission, it will feature the same components, including a two-day conference with high-level speakers from Canada and South Korea, personalized business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking for official delegates, and networking opportunities for attendees. Parts of the virtual mission will be open to non-delegates as well, allowing for increased access and connections for a broader range of women entrepreneurs who are interested in exporting to Asian markets, regardless of where they are in Canada or their stage of export readiness.
