Virtual Member Highlight
The OWIT Virtual Chapter presents its latest OWIT member highlight and discussion event. This month, our discussion will feature two OWIT members, who will introduce themselves and provide a brief presentation. After our featured members speak, we will ask participants to introduce themselves, and there will be time for a Q&A and general discussion. We hope that this event allows participants to network and make connections among OWIT virtual and chapter members! This event is free to current OWIT members (both virtual and chapter members). The event will last one hour.
Our featured speakers will be Dr. Joynicole Martinez and Wendy Epley.
Dr. Joynicole Martinez is founder and CEO of the Alchemist Agency, a management consulting firm focused on building the capacity of purpose driven nonprofit organizations, corporation, and executives.
Dr. Martinez has 20 years of experience providing capacity-building services, including fund development, leadership and board training, strategic planning, and performance management.
As a community advancement and public health expert, Joynicole has developed initiatives that reach across disciplines to strengthen health and wellness, including the development of mixed-income, mixed-finance housing communities that encompass programming addressing social determinants of health, equity and human rights.
She sits on the Board of Directors for the Franklin Foundation for Innovation, Wisdom To Believe Foundation, is the U.S. Chair for Housing and Community Development for the ALL International Women's Chamber, a Subject Matter Expert for the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, is a SheSource Expert in the areas of Business and the Economy, Health, and Social Justice, is a staff contributor to the newspaper The Carolinian, and is a member of the invitation-only community of leadership and executive coaches, Forbes Coaches Council.
For more than 30 years, Wendy Epley's career expands across many industry leaders including Honeywell, Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals, Arthur Andersen LLP, and Caterpillar. Wendy has worked in the field of Regulatory Trade Compliance since 2008 while at Honeywell and then broadened to help universities such as the University of Miami and New York University establish and manage their export compliance programs.
Wendy is certified from the Export Compliance Training Institute as an Export Compliance Professional (ECoP®) in both the Export Administration Regulations and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Regulatory Trade Compliance from Dunlap-Stone University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Global Business from Arizona State University.
Wendy serves on the Program Advisory Committee for the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program as the subject matter expert for the Export Compliance series. As an active member of the Association of University Export Control Officers (AUECO), Wendy has presented on numerous topics at the Impact of Export Controls and Higher Education and Scientific Institutions conferences since 2013 and served on the AUECO Executive Board. As a member of several organizations such as the Society for International Affairs (SIA), the Organization for Women in International Trade (OWIT), and The Association of Trade Compliance Professionals (ATCP), Wendy is focused on helping others understand and navigate through the nuanced area of regulatory trade compliance.
