SHARE YOUR VOICE! VIRTUAL ROUNDTABLE FOR INDIGENOUS WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

  • Tuesday, May 12, 2020
  • 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

The challenges of living and doing business in a global pandemic are being amplified for Indigenous women, many of whom face additional barriers to starting, growing and sustaining their business due to structural inequalities that existed long before this crisis.

What opportunities, services and supports are available to support Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs in this moment? What barriers and challenges do they face?

In partnership with The Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH), with a focus on the Eastern Ontario Region, Impact Hub Ottawa is co-hosting a virtual discussion with Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs and supporting organizations to explore these questions, build connection, and resources in the spirit of collaboration.

We’ll be joined by the following ecosystem supporters:

Ashley Richard – WEKH’s Indigenous Engagement and Outreach Lead

Hazel Harrison – Entrepreneur Navigator & Mentor, Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC)

Jace Meyer – Shopify’s Lead for Indigenous Entrepreneurs

Katie Miller – Managing Director, Impact Hub Ottawa

Magnolia Perron – Indigenous Women and Youth Program Officer, & Gerry Huebner, Chief Strategy Officer – National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA)

Melissa Cook – Program Manager, PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise
