It is indeed commendable how passionate entrepreneurs and working professionals have moulded themselves to identify new opportunities and create avenues of engagements and collaborations. This summer, it was nice to see and read about in-person events being organized and how we are slowly embracing the precious old normal. This is a morale boost for us not only in the work environment, but also for personal growth and development.
It was interesting to read about how social norms and etiquette during the testing times of the pandemic had evolved and now, personally, it seems we are again going back to the good old times of shaking hands, having in-person coffee and conversations. Whether it’s the business world or in our personal life, the essence of meeting in person and building new relationships will always hold a strong and positive impact.
We are excited about our partnership with FITT that would aim to connect women in international trade to the right training to properly address global trade risks, plan strategically and avoid costly errors. Register for the training and get in touch with OWIT-Toronto for a 40% discount.
Albeit, the days are getting shorter, and in due course the earthy hues of Autumn will come to visit us, OWIT-Toronto has planned many engagements and activities for its members to meet in person, forge relationships and ensure productive interactions.
The Annual Export Awards Gala is planned for November, and the core team has been working hard to ensure the in-person event enables the members and attendees to create new memories, network and build lasting relationships. For me, the 2019 Annual Export Awards Gala inspired me to join this fantastic community where I met my wonderful and sincere mentor, worked with fellow Board members who unconditionally shared their wisdom and knowledge, and also connected with close associates who shared the same passion for being bridge-builders in the International Trade spectrum.
